Rita - A Universalist Life-Artist
![]()
An artist being a mirror to society; a person who lives, absorbs, and then reflects life through the imperfect filters of their unique experiences.
Rita, like the rest of us, lives life through the people she meets and the experiences she allows herself to have. She then uses her Writing, her Publishing Company, her Anthropological and Psychiatric work, and her more Traditional Artistic expressions, first as a means of absorbing and understanding life, and then as a means of reflecting her view of the world back at the societies in which she interacts.

Association Aïni Bennaï
![]()
Is a non-profit Association, created in 1998, to honour AÏNI BENNAÏ, killed at fifteen and a half, by physicians… It was so unbearable to have a Life of a precocious genius cut, so that this was the unique way to celebrate this young unique Lady, who read Marcel Proust at eleven, listening to it on walkman earphones, saying:
"I like so much his dandyism!!!"
So, the purpose of the Association, after endowments made to seven libraries (almost 20 000 books, documents, reviews, etc), continues to be "Culture & Leisure"
Publishing Company - Éditions Aïni Bennaï
![]()
The “EDITIONS AÏNI BENNAÏ” was created in October 2003 in order to bring something new to developing Countries; the Motto of the publishing house is clear:
“Only intelligence combined with sensitivity can save the world!”
As publishing is a non existing system in the Third World, Rita El KHAYAT, according to her experiences as an Author, created this possibility for other Voices, Pens and Talents to melt the World as it is NOW!!!
Written Work
![]()
I’m Rita El KHAYAT and I wrote thirty books. What a deal, because in such conditions I created my own possibilities to publish my “Written Works”. I have published my books in many Arabic Countries, in France, Italy, Germany, USA, Spain, Malta, but, until today I’m not yet really understood! No problem, an author has all eternity in front!!!
Anthropology
![]()
I believe that Ethnology died with colonialism, as it was invented to understand people to be colonized, their cultures and civilizations. Today, as an ex-colonized, trained in Europe and pupil of the inventor of Ethno-psychiatry, Georges Devereux, I declared in a lot of works, that Anthropology is a unique contemporary Science able to put Humans in common, comparing and explaining them, in a modern and true point of view. In 2008, I’m going to teach in Italy, where the University of Chieti (Abruzzo Region), Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, offered me a Professorship of “Anthropology of Knowledge”
Psychiatry & Psychoanalysis
![]()
I'm a psychiatrist because Psychiatry is the most important branch of Medicine, as psycho-affective and intellectual aspects of human beings are the most important definitions of each one of us… I was so persuaded that Humans were put in the highest place of the Universe… now, they are just chemical reactions, a genetically ordered system with a billion possibilities of behaviour… and my pacific fight is addressed to re-enhance Men and Women at the top of the living creatures…
The Arts
![]()
I deeply believe that Arts are a way to be illuminated by what humanity has created as a Masterpiece of itself! It’s impossible to live without Arts, to breathe and to pretend being alive. However, I realized that a lot of people are not drowned in this happiness, I mean in the Arts and the Art!
So, I made of my waiting room, for all my patients, an art gallery…I hope everybody will become aware of Art…
Rita vs. Ghita - the reasons why
![]()
The colonial powers at the time took it upon themselves to decide how best to pronounce the sounds of the languages they reigned over and how best to render them into Latin letters. Mistakes were made, especially because of the lack of consultation with those whom this would affect the most. With the result that, in Rita’s case at least, she has decided to claim back her correct name and pronunciation by now spelling it with R instead of Gh.
Naturally documents and publications pertaining to her earlier life will still refer to her as Ghita, and not Rita El Khayat.
